Understanding the Psychology of Foot Fetishism

Sex is one of the most natural things in the world, considering that it's part of a biological process. But as what sex educator and relationship expert Dr. Yvonne Fulbright said, it is one topic that remains taboo to this day. Sex isn't something anyone discusses in the open. So imagine the struggle of people with fetishes to discuss their needs, and find answers to questions or clarification to the confusing feelings they're experiencing. How would you know if your obsession with a foot is normal or abnormal if you can't talk about it?

The Psychology Behind Foot Fetishism
There are several reasons why men are interested in feet, and it rarely has anything to do with the shape of your feet or the color of your nail polish. One thing is for sure, it has become a thriving business in the adult industry, as shown in the book Digital Sex Work.

  • Straight and gay men in every country search for 4 body parts: penis, chest, buttocks and feet. In fact, it is one of the most researched non-genital body parts.
  • The male brain has a biological predisposition to taking care of the feet, but foot cues in men may be formed long before they realize their foot obsession.
  • The brain areas associated with the feet and genitalia are right next to each other on the brain's body image map. This makes it so much easier to cross wire both areas, resulting in foot fetishism.

But there is a strong evidence that male foot cue is innate. During the critical formative period of sexual desire in men, he is highly likely to pay more attention to the feet because of his innate foot cue. He would have the same reaction to foot-related stimuli, which explains why he has a specific interest in 5-inch heels, silky pantyhose, foot bandages or specific feet actions, such as trampling stepping on balloons or rubbing on penises.

It could also be as simple as watching Shons Sleepy Soles, a video of a woman’s soles and nothing else. No sort of movement whatsoever.
Another popular view with psychologists suggests that foot fetishes may have originated in early toddler years or even way back to babyhood. The theory is that a baby or child may have been tickled or prodded by someone’s foot, resulting in a stimulation that imprinted on them for life.

It is also believed that the odds of imprinting are high in foot-related odors, and tactile sensations.

Could it be that there is a foot fetish behind the story of Cinderella, particularly the prince searching far and wide for that particular foot to fit the shoe? In reality, however, obsession with the feet is cultural in some countries. The Chinese and Persian’s attraction to small feet, for example, led to a practice of foot binding.

Whichever is the case, foot fetishism has hatched various tools and channels that can help in better understanding the sexual behavior or satisfying a man’s craving. Extra Lunch Money (ELM) is an adult website that has foot fetish content. Vagankle is an adult toy in the shape of a woman’s feet with a vagina at the ankle area.

Because foot fetishism is the most common and popular of its kind, women can definitely make money out of it, catering to men’s attraction to feet. Learn more about it through Digital Sex Work.
