The Perfect Pedicure

You don't need to shell out your hard-earned cash just to get the perfect pedicure. Everything you need to get perfect peds can be done right from your own home. Plus, knowing how to paint your toes and get your feet all pretty helps a lot especially when it is part of your job to show them off. On that note, here are some tips on getting the perfect pedicure.

Do Some Prep Work

Not everyone – not even those with a foot fetish – may find hairy toes appealing. So if you've got some hairy toes, make sure they are hair free by using depilatory cream to rid of them. This method is much better than tweezing and waxing, and let's face it, less excruciating. Plus, they happen to be longer lasting too.

Next, prepare a foot bath to soften tough heels. Use a sea salt soak and add a pinch of liquid dish soap to remove dirt and make cuticles more pliable. Soak your feet for about twenty minutes. Without removing your other foot, pat one dry and rid of calluses using an emery board or pumice stone.

In case you have any blisters, corns or bunions, avoid infection by not exfoliating them. Also, for your safety, don't use anything abrasive on your foot like a metal tool.

Once your done with one foot, soak this into a clean bath then start working on your other foot. After your feet have been soaked, dab a cotton ball with some hydrogen peroxide and apply them to any blisters on your feet.

File Away

Make sure your feet are dry then apply cuticle oil to the base of the nail. If you want a more natural and easy to reach alternative, try some olive oil as a substitute. Work on pushing back cuticles with an orangewood stick. Also, only cut cuticles with a cuticle trimmer when they look like they're about to tear the skin.

Use an emery board to file away, making sure nails get as short as possible but don't cause discomfort either. Make sure the shape of the nail remains square. Only use clippers when the nails are really long because brittle nails will split with unnecessary cutting.

Paint Properly

Whether working at a foot bordello or as a webcam model, how your nail looks matters, especially the shade of paint you're going to use. To make the paint last longer, make sure to apply cuticle oil to the base of your nails each night. Doing so will help pedicures last for two weeks.

Using the right basecoat will also prevent a lot of nail pigmentation and texture problems. To get it right, apply two coats of your color of choice before finishing it off with a topcoat, preferably with UV filters to prevent fading. Allow two minutes between each step for streak-free application and faster drying.

To lessen smudging, apply polish first on the foot that is opposite your dominant hand before moving to the other. In case mistakes do happen, fix them with a corrector pen then scrape the excess away in the shower when the lacquer has dried.

Pick the Right Color

While the paint on your fingers and toes don't necessarily need to match, it helps to that the shades be somewhat complementary. For example, if you choose neon purple for your toes, try something more lighter like lavender for your fingers.

With these tips, you get not just beautiful nails but also gorgeous feet that you can freely show off in those strappy heels or sandals. The steps here help you achieve stunning feet for showing off just about anywhere.
